Scheme of Studies
A Ph.D. degree offers the chance to undertake a substantial piece of supervised work that is worthy of publication and which makes an original contribution to knowledge in a specific field. Research programs are designed to produce professional scientists, well-versed in a range of advanced techniques and methods in Biotechnology, in addition to having an in-depth knowledge of a particular area.
Coursework & Comprehensive Examination:
A Student with an M.Phil. degree is expected to complete Ph.D. level course work of at least 18 credit hours followed by a comprehensive examination.
Seminar:
A seminar on research topic is a prerequisite for thesis submission.
Publications:
Acceptance or publication of at least one research paper in HEC recognized journal is essential for award of Ph.D. degree.
Thesis:
In the final semester of study, the student must submit a thesis to the controller of examinations. The thesis is evaluated by at least two experts from technologically advanced countries. Finally, the student must pass an oral examination defending his/her thesis.
